Have you survived the shopping mayhem?  It seems to get crazier every year.  I am going to share my Black Friday scores with you in a special post tomorrow. 😉  As for today, I wore black and gold, which is one of my favorite color combos.  I got this Michael Kors coat on sale at Macy’s. There are TONS of deals online now, so if there is anything you have been lusting after, now is the time to buy! The boots are Alexa Chung for Madewell, which were an Ebay score since they are sold out everywhere. The calf hair helps to keep the feet warm, which is welcome in the current freezing temps NYC is experiencing! Stay warm everyone! Details on everything I am wearing, and similar looks, are all below!  Let me know what you think in the comments!

Currently Craving: Cobalt

cobalt pics collage Currently Craving: CobaltCobalt blue has become my new obsession. You can see here, on my Instagram, that I have a growing collection of cobalt blue items in my closet.  The color is so electric, and alive. It was my mom’s favorite color too- so maybe I inherited my love of the color from her.

I put together some of my current favorite cobalt items for you.  I recently got a 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Pashli crossbody bag in this exact color.  I love it! (Photos to follow soon!) I love the large size Pashli as well. It reminds me of my cobalt blue Celine mini luggage bag which I adore! You can see photos of it HERE.  (Notice a trend with the cobalt blue color?)

What do you think of the color? Do you have a current favorite color you are rocking? Tell me in the comments!

alien dating Super Fashion with Super Heroes NYC Comic Con 20132013 was the year that I attended my very first Comic Con.  I had heard about it for years, and knew it was a really cool event, but I never really had reason to attend until this year. Why this year? Well 2013 was the 20th anniversary of The X-Files, a show that changed my life in the 90s, ignited my obsession with Mulder and Scully, and made me “want to believe”. It still remains one of the most brilliant, and groundbreaking shows of Television history.  I am still in awe that I got the chance to meet both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in person, and got to thank them for their creativity and entertainment.  They were both extremely sweet, friendly, and warm. To be honest, I think the real “X-File” is how they look more amazing now then they did 20 years ago!  (The cigarette smoking man may have something to do with this) 😉

Comic Con in general was a ton of fun.  It’s sort of like Halloween, except everyone is a super hero, or comic book character.  My boyfriend Chris and I had a blast walking around and seeing everything.  I hope you enjoy the photos! I wore bright colored sunglasses, and an embellished clutch for the day.  It seemed fitting.  Maybe next year I’ll go in costume. 😉

Let me know in the comments if you have ever attended a Comic Con!

Hey guys!  I am so excited about this post!  I recently had the opportunity to shoot at 5 Pointz in Queens.  It’s an awesome space where graffiti artists display their work. How amazing in this incredible street art? I was blown away by the talent displayed at 5 Pointz! Read more about 5 Pointz HERE.

For my shoot I chose a funky, urban inspired Fall look. Yes, it’s finally cool in NYC!! Thank God! Leopard was the theme for the day, and I took advantage of the crisp weather to break out my leopard calf hair boots and bag.  The hot pink coat was the finishing touch- I have been WAITING to wear this coat all Summer! Details on what I am wearing, and where to buy them are below. 😉

But, first- here is a video I made showcasing the artists’ work, and what I wore.  Enjoy!
XOXO

Currently Craving- Backpacks (Not just for school anymore)

backpack collage Currently Craving Backpacks (Not just for school anymore)

Not just for school anymore………

I have to admit- I’ve been kinda obsessed with backpacks lately.  It’s a style of bag that I literally have not worn since high school.  Even in college, (hello Fordham University!), I wore messenger bags, and large handbags.  Never backpacks. Never.  Backpacks were for kids.  At least that is how I felt at the time.

Fast forward to 2013, and all you see lately are designer backpacks. There are backpacks with wild prints, backpacks with studs, backpacks with fringe, and even backpacks with other accents that definitely set this generation of backpacks apart from the plain, nylon bags we wore in our teen years. The choices are endless.

What does it all mean? Well, for one it means I think it’s time for me to break my ban on backpacks, and maybe try out this style again- as an adult.  And second, it means I am going to have a hard time deciding which awesome backpack to try out.  And, so will you.  But you are in luck, here I have compiled my list of the hottest, chicest, and most sophisticated backpacks I could find.  Click the name of the bag below to see where to buy them! And tell me in the comments if you will try out this style!  I know I will! 😉

FIRST ROW- Left to right

1) Stela 9 Shiva Backpack– I love the bohemian vibe!
2) Cambridge 13″ Tartan Satchel Backpack– Adorable backpack version of the famous Cambridge satchel!
3) Oliveve Dottie Convertible Backpack– Love the embossed leather, and tassels! So chic!
4) One by Bed Stu Shiloh Leather Backpack- Love the rich, chocolate leather and pocket details!

SECOND ROW- Left to right

1) Jericho Backpack– I am really in love with the distressing, pocket detailing, and beautiful blue color of this backpack!  It comes in other colors too! Check it out!
2) Cleobella Gita Backpack– Who doesn’t love fringe?  This bag is chic enough to wear day or night- and especially to a concert or festival! This bag screams Summer! Love!
3) Rebecca Minkoff Logan Backpack– I have to admit I have been obsessing over this one for months.  I couldn’t decide between black, or this almond color- but I think this buttery brown leather has won me over!
4) New Look Leopard Backpack- Well, for fans of my blog, it’s no secret I LOVE leopard! So, when I found this ultra chic, roomy leopard backpack for under $40, I jumped on it! It’s the perfect dash of animal print, in an easy to carry style.  What’s not to love! GREAT PRICE TOO!

Currently Craving: Summer Sandals for 2013!

summer sandals Currently Craving: Summer Sandals for 2013!Ahhhhh ladies…..the time has come.  Time to pick out your favorite nail color, get a pedicure, (which for me will be the first in months after this long Winter!), and go shopping for the perfect pair of Summer Sandals. There are many trends that I wanted to showcase this season. I am especially loving bright prints, neon colors, clear heels, and metallics in footwear this Summer. I am also seeing tons of embellishments in the form of sequins, tassels, beading, and feathers as well. LOVE!!!  Maybe it’s the gypsy in me that responds to the Bohemian vibe of it all. (Thank you Stevie for that inspiration!) LOL Anyway, here are some sandals I am currently lusting after.  Which are your favorite? Do you own any of these? Tell me in the comments section below! We went to South Beach, and the weather, food, and beach was amazing. With the tempeture being so insanely cold in NYC lately, these photos definitely keep me dreaming of warmer days! The thing I love about South Beach is that you can’t wear enough bright neon colors, metallics, or animal prints. “The bolder….the better” is always my motto while there. As you can see from the photos, my friends don’t shy away from color either.   I hope you enjoy the photos!!! Try the Miami look with the links below!
