Dreaming of warmer days….My Miami Photos!!!!

MiamiI finally had a chance to gather together my photos from my recent trip to Miami.  The weekend was incredible, and the occasian was my best friend Debbie’s bachlorette weekend. We went to South Beach, and the weather, food, and beach was amazing. With the tempeture being so insanely cold in NYC lately, these photos definitely keep me dreaming of warmer days! The thing I love about South Beach is that you can’t wear enough bright neon colors, metallics, or animal prints. “The bolder….the better” is always my motto while there. As you can see from the photos, my friends don’t shy away from color either.   I hope you enjoy the photos!!! Try the Miami look with the links below!

Trending for Spring: Bright and Colorful Statement Jewelry

Hot Jewel encrusted items for Spring

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am jewelry obsessed. No outfit feels complete for me without a eye catching bracelet, or statement making necklace.  You can totally update your look, or make an old dress feel new again with the right accessories.  With Spring coming, (soon I hope!), I am seeing more and more jewel centered pieces.  I love the organic feel of a huge stone ring, or a bold necklace with multicolored stones.  It makes me think of the warmer weather, and definitely brightens my mood.  I have put together a collection of current items that I am lusting after.  I recently discovered Katie Dean Jewelry, and I have included some of her gorgeous creations on this list.  I love her use of different shapes and colors in her pieces, and I especially love that most of her bracelets are stackable. Links to purchase each item are below. Which are your favorite?

Ahhh, Winter in NYC……..it can be gloomy, misty, foggy, and dark at times can’t it? But no matter how dark the skies become, there is something so gorgeous about the buildings, architecture, and design of the ciy that always stands out.  Case in point, the beautiful surroundings on this particular gloomy day in February. And, just so you know, it was freezing! I stayed warm by layering my Zara denim shirt over a J Crew t shirt, and my bright cobalt Marc Jacobs coat kept me both warm, and happy with a needed pop of color.  I last wore this gorgeous coat in THIS POST.  (You can buy a Similar coat HERE) I carried my orange clutch from ASOS for an added pop of color.  I have a always loved blue and orange together. This clutch was last seen in THIS POST, paired with denim.  (Similar clutch HERE.) The fringe suede boots are Nine West. They were on sale, and sold out, but you can buy a similar style HERE.  Stay warm!

Stylish sweaters to stay chic in Winter
I love kitschy sweatshirts. There is something about a sweater, or a sweatshirt being really over the top that suddenly makes it cool. At least in my book.  I am seeing more and more of these eye catching, and outlandish designs lately. Some of them remind me of things I have seen my grandma wear, but I think that is why I like them. They are unexpected.  They say something.  They shake things up. They make a statement.  And that statement is, I’m not afraid to be bold. I am not afraid to wear a parrot on my chest, or a deer, or a skull.  Plus, they are really warm, and it’s pretty cold outside.  Score. 😉

50 Shades of Pink

I celebrated the Fall-like temps  by wearing every single pink item I could find in my closet.  Overkill?  I was happy to be able to wear my leather jacket, although, after these pics were snapped, I had to put my fur vest over it. It’s warmer then usual, but it’s not Spring yet! I wore my Jeffrey Cambell Litas because they are tall enough to hover over the snow, and there is rubber on the bottom.  Believe it or not, they are as comfortable as sneakers!  My top and necklace are J Crew.  I love their long sleeve knit shirts and sweaters.  Their colors and patterns are great for layering. Speaking of which, have you seen the images of the J Crew show at NYFW? ***DROOLING***  I will be posting my fave looks from NYFW later this week. Stay warm!!!!

Happy Snow day!Celine in snowHappy Snow DayHello from snow buried NYC!!!  As most of the world knows, NYC, and the surrounding areas of New England were covered in a blanket of snow this weekend.  (The timing of “Nemo” hitting us at the start of Fashion Week  was definitely NOT ideal!) But, I can’t say it’s not beautiful!  Me, being the stubborn fashionista that I am, insisted on wearing my tall wedge Steve Madden boots despite the thick ice and snow.   You should have seen the look on my boyfriend’s face when I emerged from the bedroom in these! We had a meeting in our neighborhood, so I figured walking a few blocks to brunch in these babies wouldn’t be bad. After all…..there is rubber on the bottom! Boy, was I wrong! All I can say is thank God for railings, parked cars, and my boyfriend to hold on to! LOL  Since it was so cold, I opted to put a warm fur vest over my wool Mackage coat.  I love layering vests over coats to give them a fresh look.  I also love the look of fur over coats, and this is a great way to get that look without spending a ton of money.  It’s also a good way to wear old coats, and make them look new again!  The vest was an ebay find btw. 😉 Lastly, I wore bright blue cobalt to brighten up the black, and as you know from THIS POST, I love neon brights in Winter! How are you dressing for the storm? Tell me in the comments below.

Anyway, this has been an exciting weekend so far. My boyfriend, an up and coming actor and comedian, (and a pretty good blog photographer if I do say so myself), appeared on national television yesterday, and had host Vinnie Politan laughing in stitches on HLN’S Making it in America. If you want to laugh, click here to watch the video.

Lastly, the moment we have all been waiting for! The winner of my Asos Leopard Coat Giveaway! The winner is Annie!  I will be contacting her now! Congrats Annie! The winner was picked randomly.  Stay tuned for TWO more giveaways this month!!! And thanks for reading! Continue to follow me on Facebook, and Twitter for more updates and giveaways!

Snowy Saturday

Happy Saturday from frozen NYC!!  We got a blanket of snow last night, and it was so pretty, that I had to go into our backyard and take some photos before it melted. It was about 15 degrees today, and the only way to stay warm is to layer!  I wore a t shirt layered under a thick knit sweater, both from Zara.  I also layered a rabbit fur vest over my parka for extra warmth.  ( My parka was last seen in this post, and the fur vest was last seen In this post)  How are you keeping warm in this cold weather??  I hope you all have a cozy weekend!  Hot chocolate, blankets, and movies are my choices in these temperatures.;-)

High Fashion in Machine City

Javitz Center bike show-The Fashion MinxWe spent this past Sunday at the Motorcycle show at the Javitz Center. What gorgeous bikes! I especially loved this yellow one.  Think it matches my outfit? LOL

Javitz Center bike show- The Fashion MinxThere is something so badass about riding a motorcycle in a skirt and heels. I had images of myself hightailing it out of NYC on my yellow bike-very Bonnie and Clyde.  Too bad I don’t know how to ride bikes. 🙁

Bike show paintingsbike show leopard bikeNaturally,  I was attracted to this bike with the leopard seat. LOVE the copper elements also. So retro. It’s gorgeous!  I would even love to have it on display in our apt, next to my leopard coats and bags. (Chris said no to this idea. LOL)

Javitz Center bike showI didn’t take any bikes home, but maybe next time. 😉  I love the pop of floral in my skirt against the black I was wearing. I love mixing things like black motorcycle boots with floral patterns to combine masculine with feminine. I thought this was the perfect look for a bike show.
