Brooklyn Wedding

My boyfriend Chris and I went to a beautiful wedding in Brooklyn this past Saturday.  It was chic and edgy, with wine, cupcakes and dancing at this awesome bar with outdoor space.  I wore an adorable navy dress that I scored for $24.99 from Forever 21 (similar here, or here) , and paired it with my Balenciaga Blue Lavande clutch (similar look here or here) . I love mixing high and low end items.  It’s a great way to elevate your look and save money! My bangle is Hermes, (some more cool bangles here)  and my ring is YSL. Spike bracelet is CC Skye. It was a beautiful party, and we wish Matt and Sara a lifetime of happiness!  xoxo Julie 😉

CURRENTLY CRAVING: ARM CANDY

For those who know me, they know that I love nothing more then “arm candy”. I love bracelets. I love stacking bracelets. I love stacking bracelets on top of bracelets……….You get the idea. 😉  There is no better way to dress up your look then to pile on some gorgeous accessories on your wrists.  And nowadays, the more the better! Is there an art to “stacking”? Um, I think so. I think you need to find that delicate balance between chic and overkill.  Personally I always pair some chain and spike bracelets with my watch. Other times, I wear a large cuff, and balance it out with delicate strand bracelets to offset it.  It’s up to you.  The thing I love about stacking bracelets is that you can totally make the look your own, and it’s a great way to update some old bracelets that you have had in your drawer for a while.  You can pair them with some new acquisitions and freshen up the look. For this post, I have listed some of the bracelets that I am currently CRAVING! All of these are great for layering and stacking. Let’s take a look! 😉 Links posted below for all bracelets shown above. xoxo

TOP ROW: From left to right……

1) Deepa Gurnani double spike cuff.  Buy it HERE. .I love this cuff!  It’s rock and roll, but glamorous at the same time. I love the way the crystals offset the tough spikes.  Girly and tough at the same time.  Added bonus, it’s double strands start you off nicely to layer with other bracelets!

2) CC Skye Love Spike Bracelet.  Buy it HERE. This is the the PUNK version of the Cartier love bracelet.  It’s chic, with an edge……my favorite.  CC Skye is one of my favorite jewelry brands.  The quality is AMAZING, and lasts forever. Definitely worth the investment. This piece is screaming to get layered. I own this gem….stay tuned for future posts with me styling it. 😉

3) Marc by Marc Jacobs Small Rose Gold Katie Turnlock Bracelet.  Buy it HERE. I love these turnlock bracelets! Such a classic design…..and the adorable turnlock closure is the perfect accent.  I own this rose gold version.  I am a huge fan of rose gold because I believe it goes so easily with both white and yellow gold.  You can layer this bracelet with anything! It comes in two sizes. Buy the rose gold in the larger size HERE. You can also buy it in yellow gold HERE, and in white gold HERE

4)Pave Pyramid Bangles. Buy them HERE. What do I love most about these gorgeous, sparkly, tri-color bangles? Is it the amazing price, or the fact that you get (3) bangles in the perfect colors all ready for stacking? Hmmm I think both! 😉  Fabulous price and incredible style? This is a no brainer!

5)Balenciaga Arena Giant Rose Gold bracelet. Buy it HERE. It’s no secret by now that I am a huge Balenciaga fan. Their leather is amazing, and I love the hardware on their bags and bracelets. This Balenciaga cuff is a little slice of heaven. It’s edgy and chic.  It’s great for layering, or wearing on it’s own and making a statement.  I love this white leather cuff with rose gold hardware for Summer.  It’s bright and stands out.

6) Fenton Crystal Sagamore Deco Chain bracelet.  Buy it HERE. What I love most about this breathtaking crystal bracelet is that it looks like it’s an estate piece.  I can imagine buying something like this in a vintage store, or at an estate sale. It’s just so elegant.  You can wear this to a black tie affair with a lovely gown, or you can dress this down and wear it with a t-shirt and jeans. (my favorite look). Either way it’s a steal, because it’s ON SALE!! Grab it while you can! I picked one up for myself!

7)Powder Blue Multi pop bracelet. Buy it HERE. I love powder blue, and when it’s paired against black, it just makes it POP more.  I adore this crystal bracelet, and again, it’s great for layering. Great price too!

8) Charles Albert Large Titanium Quartz cuff. Buy it HERE. Now this is a statement! I have been lusting after this cuff for a long time.  I am blown away by the colors of that quartz stone set against the shiny metal of the cuff.  You can definitely wear this one alone.  No need for stacking here.

9) House of Harlow 1960 Open Weave Horn Cuff with Labradorite Stone. Buy it HERE. House of Harlow never fails to impress.  This unique design caught my eye right away. It reminds me of something that would be worn in the middle ages. I would definitely layer this with some spiky bracelets to complete the look. Good price too. 😉

Which are your favorites? Do share! xoxo

Rainy Day

TThe past few days have been so rainy and gloomy in NYC! Lucky for me, I bought these awesome, and super chic Loeffler Randall rain booties! They are so cute, as a matter of fact, that at least 5 people asked me where I got them yesterday, and that was before they even knew they were rain boots! I love that! They are short too, which is great for Spring and Summer because tall rain boots can just get so hot!  I decided to wear this awesome, sheer bright pink blouse with laser cut flowers from Forever 21. I love wearing bright colors on rainy days. My vintage Chanel maxi flap added just the right amount of “chic”. Oh, and I love how my CC Skye wrap bracelet matches the chain straps on my Chanel bag. 😉 How are you guys brightening up your wardrobe in this dark weather? Let me know! Tons more photos after the break! xoxo

The Fashion Minx’s beauty tips for looking more awake and rested

I don’t know about you, but lately, I am always feeling tired.   Work, stress and everyday responsibilities make it very difficult to get a good night’s sleep. In today’s hectic society, more and more people are getting less and less sleep. Today’s stressful society is taking a serious toll on not only our health, but overall appearance. I have some great tips on how to improve your sense of calm and well being, but since this is a fashion/beauty blog, I am going to list ways to “fake” that sense of calm as well. 😉  Everyone knows it’s important to get adequate rest every night, to eat healthy, and to practice methods of relaxation. But, that is certainly easier said then done! So, here are my tips and tricks to faking that “awake” look, and making yourself look like you have had 8 hours sleep, when you really have only had 3! Read on for details! xo

Spring lace and brights

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I am loving this warmer weather in NYC.  Spring! My second favorite season after Fall. 😉

I am really into lace lately, but done in a new, exciting way. I am seeing tons of tops with lace inserts, jeans with lace detailing, and shirts with hints of lace.  With the neon trend so big right now, I have also seen neon lace everywhere.  You can really make that neon trend pop by wearing a bright see through neon lace top, with a neon bandeau or bralet under it in a different color.  Hmm, I may try that for my next post.

For today, I decided to wear this awesome short sleeved crochet lace top from Forever 21. It’s super lightweight, and I love the design.  This top would also be perfect to wear with just a bralet or bandeau underneath, as mentioned before, but it was a little chilly that day, so layered it with a lightweight tank top, also from Forever 21. My bright, chunky accessories offset the white lace. I like to sometimes wear an outfit in plain colors, and brighten it up with accessories. Of course, my Neon Cambridge Satchel is the ultimate showstopper.  It brightens any outfit, and I get stopped on the street constantly while wearing it! Such a great investment, and so affordable! Lastly, my super comfortable beige and orange Sam Edelman wedge sandals that I bought were the highlight of my week!  So chic and gorgeous! Purchase them here!

Lace top: Forever 21, Jeans: BDG, Sandals: Sam Edelman, Bag: Cambridge Neon Satchel. Ring: YSL Arty ring,( Purchase here, or here) , Fish ring: Forever 21, Gold, Silver, and Neon bracelet: CC Skye.

Turquoise and Leather

We are experiencing that “in between” weather…..you know….where you aren’t sure if it’s Winter or Spring?  I wore my leather jacket today because I am endlessly optimistic that the weather will be warm, and stay warm.  But, as you can probably tell, it got cold. 🙁 I always carry around a Love Quotes Scarf with me, just in case a situation like this arises. They are light weight enough to stuff in your purse, but keep you warm when you wrap them a couple of times around your neck. Great quality! Glad I had it to thrown on over my thin shirt and leather jacket.  As you can see, I am never without my Alexander Wang Rocco bag. It’s perfect for wearing cross body, and grabbing on the go. I am so glad I got the rose gold hardware. It literally goes with everything, and the color really pops. Shopbop still has the same one I have with the rose gold hardware! Grab it before it’s too late!

Jacket: Balenciaga, Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans: BDG, Boots: Sam Edelman Louie- (purchase here and here.)  Scarf: Love Quotes, Sunglasses: Purchased in Bloomingdales, (similar here), Bracelets: CC Skye- purchase here, similars here. and here. Jewelry Trends for Spring/Summer 2012

There is nothing that I love more then buying new jewelry for Spring and Summer. With the warmer weather, and lighter clothing we will be wearing, it’s the best opportunity to show off awesome new necklaces, chains, and rings!  Trending this season of course is neon, jewelry with spikes and studs, and organic styles like vine shaped earrings and geometric shaped rings.  I tired to include a bit of everything in this post, including some of my favorite neon pics.  How gorgeous is that neon blue necklace above??? (And it’s super affordable too!)  I love that gorgeous spike bracelet pictured above in the bottom row from Asos. It’s super affordable at under $15, but if you really want to invest in a gorgeous bracelet……..get this CC Skye bracelet. It’s gold plated, and will last you forever. Great investment piece! But again, if that price is too much for you right now, the Asos version is a great alternative.

Read below for info on all the products featured above. Which ones will you buy???
