c600x536 Currently Craving: My Handbag Picks for Spring 2013!
Are you ready for Spring? I know I am! NYC has been very cold lately, but we are finally getting some sunny days……and with that comes Spring Fever!!!  I am itching for a new handbag, so I have begun hunting online.  I have decided to share my picks with you here, showcasing some of my favorites. I am really loving stripes and patterns on bags, as well as  bright and neon colors, which are still a big trend.  Cross body bags are always great for warmer weather, because they are easy to throw on to walk around outside. Which do you love? Links are below to all the bags!

First row:
1) Loeffler Randall The Rider Bag (Love the color blocking, and bright colors!!)
2) 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Medium Satchel ( a great cross body version of the famous Pashli satchel in a bright color for Spring!!!)
3) J Crew Edie Purse (I love this purse! This is the smaller version, and I love the pastel lilac color for Spring! So chic and girly!)

Second row:
1) Madewell The Essex Messenger (Love the earthy colors, and comfortable cross body style)
2) Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac bag (I love the pink stripes, they scream Spring! Super comfy bag too!)
3) Clare Vivier Woven Foldover Clutch ( I am obsessed with this gorgeous grass green color, and woven textured leather! Perfection!)

Third row:
1) Alexander Wang Diego Bucket bag ( This subtle lilac color against the rose gold hardware is simply stunning!!!)
2) Madewell The Essex Mini bag (Love the crisp white against the brown, it’s fresh and clean for Spring. GREAT PRICE too!)
3) Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac bag ( This bag makes a second appearance because it’s so easy and comfortable to wear. I am also loving these bright pops of color for Spring!

Getting ready for Fashion Week- My guide to “Getting The Look For Less”

c600x447 Getting ready for Fashion Week My guide to Getting The Look For Less
With Fashion Week fast approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to showcase some of my favorite looks, that I seem to see every year.   Lately, every magazine, newspaper and blog is filled with images of stylish fashionistas, celebs, and designers, all decked out in high end couture head to toe.  It can be daunting to think the average girl needs to spends hundreds, even thousands of dollars to look chic and “current”.  Well, that is where the idea for this guide came from.  I picked 6 of this season’s hottest trends, and also looks I often see on and off the runway, and I paired the high end choice, with the more affordable alternative.  (Trust me, I am all for the investment piece now and then, as evidenced by my Balenciaga jackets and Celine handbags, but if I shopped “high end” all the time, I would be on the street, unable to pay my overpriced NYC rent! LOL)  So, mixing high and low end items is the only way to go! And with the things I picked out here, you could be looking like a fashionista in no time…..sans heavy credit card debt!
Top Row:
The Stuart Weitzmans are $329, (down from $650) -VS- $104.99 for the Sam Edelmans.

2) Celine Trapeze bag-VS -Asos Leather Bar Detail Bag
The Celine bag retails for $2800 -VS-$129.31 for the Asos bag with the same look!!

$2309 for the Balenciaga -VS- $116 for the Topshop jacket
(HUGE price difference! Both are leather, and the Topshop one looks amazing!)

Second Row:
$1409 for the Nina Ricci coat -VS- $119.99 for the J Crew coat!
Neon wool coats are great to brighten up your Winter days, but you don’t need to spend over $1000 to get the look!

$225 for the Robert Rodriguez -VS- $19.80 for the Forever 21 skirt
I admit, I buy tons of stuff at Forever 21! And a frilly black skirt is a staple for every fashionista! Pair it with booties, and a leather jacket to toughen the look!

$1,195 for the Phillip Lim -VS-$89.95 for the Free People jacket
(Honestly, they look almost the SAME! And I just picked up the Free People jacket for myself! Gorgeous! Stay tuned for photos in future blog posts)

Neon brights

IMG 4868 1 Neon brightsI am just LOVING this weather! 70 degrees again in March! I had an amazing day today hanging at my good friend’s (and fellow awesome blogger’s) house, helping her purge her wardrobe, and get rid of things she does NOT need. God, I need to do the same thing! LOL

I threw on this new top I got from Zara, which was slightly sheer, and gave me the ideal chance to show off my neon pink bra from Victoria’s Secret. This is another great way to wear neon that isn’t too much “in your face”.  It’s a hint of color, and a great way to brighten up a plain top. I had to also take out my cobalt blue Celine luggage tote again. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I will definitely be wearing this a lot more. LOVE the cobalt blue mixed with other neons as well. How are you wearing neon this season so far?  More photos after the break. icon wink Neon brights
