Flashback to NYC Fashion Week Spring 2011~ “With Love” necklace collection

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a full year since these photos were taken! I didn’t have a blog back then so I wanted to post these photos now for you to see.  I was lucky enough to be invited to attend a W event  that was run by my good friend Elaine.  I also had a chance to promote a line of necklaces near and dear to my heart, the “With Love” Collection by Joe Cangemi. These necklaces are a unique design, an open circle shape that come in either white, yellow, or rose gold.  You are able to engrave the necklace with whatever you want.  “With Love” will appear on one side, with your choice of words for the other side.  For mine, I chose my name and my boyfriend’s name, Chris. Joe has special necklaces that he makes for causes that mean a lot to him, such as cancer research, breast cancer, AIDS, ect.  Some people chose to have a necklace made to represent what they have been through in life, and how they survived. These are more then just necklaces, they are symbols of life, love and strength. You can purchase them here.

Keep reading for photos of me and Joe wearing the necklaces, as well as photos from the W Event. 😉 xoxo

Casual Sunday (Go Giants!)

Superbowl Sunday!!! Today was a fun, relaxing day. We spent the day cooking, eating, and watching the game at our good friend’s house.  And…the GIANTS won! GO NY!!!

Today was a bit warmer, so I put on my leather jacket.  (Although I didn’t realize the intense chill in the air,so I put a fur vest over this jacket, and added a scarf right after the photos were snapped LOL)

I wore my super comfortable Frye Deborah boots. I love them and the stud detailing! And and I simply love my leopard Diego bag, it adds a pop to every outfit.  Hope you all had a great Sunday!!  Enjoy!!!

Layers, Belgian Waffles, and girl’s day out ;-)

Today was a gorgeous day in NYC!  The temperature went up to 60 degrees, and despite the high winds, it was a welcome break from the extreme cold weather we have been getting. I decided to have a girls day out in the city with my best friend Debbie. We wanted to hit the Nanette Lepore sample sale (details on what I purchased in a later post), get Belgian Waffles, and enjoy the gorgeous weather.  For those outside of NYC, there is an amazing Belgian Waffle truck in Chelsea. This truck is there 6 days a week, and serves up genuine Belgian Waffles, with unlimited toppings, (including a ground up cookie paste that is to die for!), fruit, ice cream, and melted Belgian chocolate.  YUM!!! Of course, we had to have everything on our waffles! LOL

I decided to layer up, wearing my rabbit fur vest under my Kenneth Cole coat, so that I was still warm in the high winds, but I would be able to remove my coat if necessary and just wear the vest.  My Acne Pistol boots are perfect for walking around the city for 8 hours, super comfortable!!!  But the icing on the cake? My gorgeous Alexander Wang Rocco bag with rose gold hardware!  Get it while you can! The rose gold hardware sells out right away! It’s so perfect because it goes with both gold and silver. Amazing bag!!

Today was a fun day!

Hope your New Year is BRIGHT!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  My first post of the New Year! I am so excited!  Thanks to everyone who has been following my infant blog so far! I promise there will be more exciting posts, givaways, and tons to look forward to in 2012!! 😉

For New Years Eve day yesterday, I decided I wanted my outfit to reflect my spirit and outlook for 2012….which is BRIGHT.  I decided to wear this gorgeous Old Navy wool coat that I purchased last year, and never had the chance to wear!   I absolutely LOVE this shade of pink.  It’s such a great pop of color in the cold, dreary winters of NYC! Even wearing it made me happy!  And, for a bonus, it was super affordable, as are all Old Navy coats, at just $99.99.  Chic, elegant, and fun for under $100 bucks!

My best friend Debbie snapped these photos for me in her neighborhood of Forest Hills, New York.  (It’s in Queens for you out of towners LOL) We were out shopping, and buying food for her New Years Party that night.  I hope you all had a fabulous, fun, amazing, and special New Years! All the best for 2012! xoxoxo

The perfect holiday gifts for the “FASHIONISTA” in your life…….

BOOKS FOR THE FASHIONISTA IN YOUR LIFE

Ever wonder what to buy for that fashionable friend you have…..that seems to already have EVERYTHING? LOL  Or what about that friend who LOVES fashion, and has a passion for it?  Or, lastly, what about your freind with a fashion blog? LOL (hint, hint!)  Well I think these beautifully written books, with tips on style, gorgeous photographs, and guides on how to dress to show off your best self, are THE PERFECT GIFT!
I saw Lady Gaga’s book in person when I was at the GAGA Workshop at Barneys. It’s jam packed with amazing, breathtaking photographs that show off the pop icon’s unique style.  Perfect gift for the fan of Gaga, or simply for someone who loves fashion in general.
That Alexander McQueen book, “Savage Beauty”, is tops on my wishlist this year. It sold out at the exhibit at the Met this year, but luckily you can buy it online.  It’s a great tribute to a fashion icon, an innovator and genius in the design world.  A MUST HAVE for any fashion lover.  Best. Coffee. Table. Book. Ever.
“Kate Moss-Paper Doll”, “Style Book”, “I Love your Style”, and “Little Dictionary of Fashion”  are all affordable books that are fun, quirky, and great for those coworkers you have that love fashion, and they also make great stocking stuffers.  Everyone loves getting a cool new book to read and these in particular are great because of their images.
Lastly “American Fashion”, and “American Fashion travel” are just insanely beautiful books, loaded with images that take you on a journey through years of American Fashion. “American Fashion” takes you though the last 70 years of fashion, and “American Fashion Travel” is a collection of personal travel photos and scrapbooks from some of America’s most beloved designers.  Both are visually stunning books!
On the top of my wish list??  The Lady Gaga book, and the Alexander McQueen book…..there is a place on my stone coffee table for both of them….in case anyone needed ideas on what to get me for the Holidays.  Hee Hee. 😉
Love you all, and Happy Holidays!

“Get the look for less” in action! Leather jacket with fur panel

As you all remember, I did a post a few days ago about how you can get the look for less. You can read that post here.  Well, I finally had the chance to sport my new Adrienne Landau fur vest, (that I scored for a crazy price on ebay, if you remember!), with my Mike and Chris Leather jacket! Thank God the weather was nice enough today for me to wear it! I paired it with a dress, tights, Acne boots, and my Celine tote, and I was good to go for a day in the city!  What do you think of the look? (By the way, if you haven’t yet, invest in fleece lined tights for winter! They are super warm, and they are still thin and slimming. I love THESE Plush ones you can buy on SHOPBOP.)

Wanna play in the park?

I took a ride with my boyfriend to his hometown of Bayonne, NJ today. It was really chilly today…..Winter is coming! 😉 I wore my Mackage coat, and did I mention that I LOVE it? Not only is it stylish and comfortable, but it’s SO WARM!  I also took out my Alexander Wang Leopard Diego for a spin. Great bag.  I love everything about it….the shape, studs on bottom, and leopard print.

My boyfriend and I decided to play in the park before we went back home…….so much fun!!!

I love these boots.  So comfortable!  Perfect for walking all day, or playing n the park.  😉 Hope you all had an amazing day! xoxo

As I have said many, many times before, I LOVE deals, steals, bargains, and most importantly, getting the look for less.  When I say “getting the look for less”, I mean taking a gorgeous, high end designer piece that retails in the thousands, and finding a way to get the very same look for a fraction of the cost……….without sacrificing style or quality.

For this look, I took this incredible A.L.C. leather and fur jacket, and retails for $2189.00 here.  I have been lusting after this jacket for ages, but that price is just too steep. So, I did some research, and I found that you can get that exact same look by pairing a leather jacket, (one you already own, or you can buy this awesome Zara one), and layering with a gorgeous fur vest on top. For this example, I took a Zara leather jacket, retailing at $159, and I paired it with this luscious Adrienne Landau fur vest that retails for $295.  That is a total of $454 for the exact same look!!!  I will take this saving one step further.  I am known in many circles at the ebay queen, (LOL), and as such, I will tell you that you can score that very same Adrienne Landau rabbit fur vest on ebay, from Neiman Marcus’s Last Call store, for only $180!!! So, that is only $339 for the same fashionable, trendy, heart stopping look as the A.L.C. jacket!!! You can purchase the rabbit fur vest on ebay here.

Guess who bought the vest???  Guess who will be modeling this look this week?  Hee Hee!!!!

Stay tuned for photos!!!! And if you decide to try this same look please share your photos with me! xoxoxoxo

Night out in the city

Join me for a gorgeous night in the city! 😉  My boyfriend and I went to a meeting tonight to discuss a possible partnership for my blog.  I decided to snap some shots on the train heading to the city, and to also snap some in the gorgeous lobby of the hotel where our meeting was held. It was another beautiful day in NYC! 65 degrees at 7pm? I hope this amazing weather keeps up! I prefer leather jackets over down coats any day!  Winter can wait!

I fell in love with this hotel lobby! That circular fish tank was amazing! And those fish were huge, and had teeth! LOL The decor was gorgeous. I will definitely be stopping by again, so beautiful!

As you can see, I can’t stop wearing my Balenciaga jacket.  It’s so comfortable and I love the quilting! I hope the weather stays warm like this so I have more chances to sport it! What do you think? xoxoxo
